Love this watch. I have to admit, when I first bought it – the first week or so was tough. You’re getting used to a completely different app experience, and being that Apple is a top of the line smartwatch – I felt like the Garmin was “missing” some things that I had become accustomed to, namely, Siri and some of the SmartHome features. The ability to text from my wrist was really never a driver for me, but being able to set a reminder … tell Siri to turn on or off the lights, start a timer, etc., was very convenient. I will say though, that this watch from a “smart” experience does more than what is readily advertised, which it can “clear” notifications from the watch, and it will also clear them on your phone. You can also read more than just a few lines, like the FitBit. Before making this purchase, I had spent a lot of time reading, researching, watching review videos etc. on the differences and strengths between the two watches, and the things that continued to come up were that AW was a superior smartwatch, and Garmin was a superior tracker/fitness/outdoor watch. This is all true. I’ve owned FitBit flex, Charge HR, Charge 2, AWS2, and now this – and what has won me over, has been the battery life, the all-day heart rate monitoring (and more accurate features and tracking, like that of resting heart rate which AW claims to do, but really just picks the lowest value it’s recorded – typically during sleep, which sleeping heart rate is different than overall resting heart rate), the ease of use, and use of buttons instead of touch screen, and the overall aesthetics. Has been my favorite “watch” of any kind that I’ve had in the last 5+ years. The app experience isn’t bad at all in my opinion as some have pointed out – and there’s a treasure trove of data as well as options in the desktop version – such as customized and suggested workouts for various goals whether it be your first 5K or a competitive marathon. To that point – I am not a competitive marathon runner, but do work out 5-6 times a week, and am someone who wanted to more accurately track their overall fitness and cardiovascular/heart health, as well as get into some of the races, but safely. Making the initial investment stung, but after the first week, I couldn’t be happier. I also purchased the Garmin brown leather band to help dress it up for the office, and it looks great. This was my first review on Amazon – but after all the time I spent agonizing about whether or not to get this watch, and then the added time I spent deciding whether or not the AW was a better fit for me – I felt compelled to write this for anyone else who might be in the same place. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the next few years, because AW is definitely getting better and adding more functionality in the fitness realm and I think will continue to do so, but Garmin has led this category for a long time and AW has a ways to go before they can compete head to head with Garmin in fitness, in my opinion.

Great toy, lots of data, training plans, navigation etc. Battery in normal use lasts about seven days but recharging it is very quick. One month in, no complaints whatsoever.

It is working fine but too much of cost

Love this watch. I’ve had it for several months now and have worn it daily, including sleeping with it and sometimes in the shower after a workout. The features have been described to death in other good reviews, but here’s my take on a few of my favorite/useful features:
    * Waterproof – don’t have to worry about wet or depth
    * Durable – I don’t go easy on my stuff and this is no exception. I mostly work at an office, but in my spare time I do lots of good labor such as chainsaw and tractor work, yard work, water rescues after hurricanes, lots of bouncing and banging around. There is a bit of sign of wear on an edge or two, but the glass is so far un-phased by my abuse. The included rubber band is very durable and comfortable, hasn’t stretched at all.
    * Classy – I wear this watch with holey shorts and t-shirts as well as daily to the office in slacks and button downs. Thinner than the previous model, my shirt cuff can go over the face with relative ease.
    * Battery Life – Very good, have to charge only every couple of weeks, even when using GPS a good amount (running) . Charges fast.
    * Running – Accurately and consistently measures heart rate, distance, exertion, etc. Accurately beeps at every mile I run. So nice to be able to do an accurate out and back, such as when I want to run 4 miles, just turn around at the second vibration. It tracks your exercise and pits you against other comparable athletes through their online portal. This really appeals to my very competitive side, overdoing it trying to beat some random Garmin user on the other side of the world by the end of the week
    * General movement – this thing will tell you to get up and move if you’ve been sitting too long and then when you do, it praises you for clearing the Move Bar
    * Sleeping – Accurately measures sleep patterns, including as soon as I fall asleep, when I momentarily wake up in the middle of the night, when I fall back asleep and wake up the next morning.
    * Ability to change the watch face – I downloaded the face that works with my eyesight (think larger time numbers) and key info that I want to see.

I don’t see any con’s, other than it takes some time to become familiar with the features and how to get to them when you need them. Great watch.
