OK… it’s a $20 vest… well, mine was $40 after they delivered it to the wrong address then sent me another, then threatened to charge me for the first one if I didn’t send it back, then I went to all the neighbors and found it (for some reason my neighbor didn’t keep it like they usually do… I live in NYC), sent it back then the still charged me… that’s beside the point. If it was a $20 vest you can’t expect much. Of course, you should still be reasonably expect the zipper not to snag on the material every single time you put it on. You’d be wrong to expect the zipper to work as designed. It’s literally a 100% fail rate – every single time I’ve ever worn this vest the zipper has snagged on the weather flap or whatever they call it. It’s really only a matter of a few wears before I toss it. I’m just trying to dollar-cost-average my $40 $20 vest to a point where I can justify tossing it… I don’t see that happening. I’m heading out for a run now. Today is likely the day.

Allows for safer outdoor exercise now that the days are getting longer and darker

Left hand zipper, I guess they only have left hand zippers at their manufacturing plant. My chest measures 48″. Size chart said an XL would work but I ordered the XXL and the XL would not have fit. I already returned a similar windbreaker because it was too small for an XL and it had the same side zipper. I’ll just live with it and I won’t buy it again.

Not so breathable as one would expect . However well made

  6. Experience is the best teacher.

I do most of my riding around dawn, so I’m extra cautious about cars- sleepy drivers in low light are bad news. This vest and my lights make those rides just a bit safer. And as I’ve started to push my distances on weekends, that back pocket has gotten lots of use. This is a lightweight garment. Not the most breathable fabric in the world, but before the heat sets in, that’s not a huge issue.

I’m 6’4 170 and a large fits me well. Maybe a little short in the back, but if I put a multi tool and energy bar in the back pocket, I don’t end up mooning anyone.

Highly visible. I normally wear an XL so I bought a men’s XXL to be sure I could wear it over other clothes, but it fits snug when I wear a light weight shirt.

  8. Chuck Duckett

Perfect for low light situations such as running in the early morning. car headlights light you up unbelievably.

This vest got some negative reviews so I wanted to add a bit more clarity to the review process. First, let me say I think this vest was a great buy and exactly what I was looking for: lightweight visibility. I have a few cycling jackets in darker colors that would make me nervous in traffic. We cyclists want to be seen, above all else. This vest does that. In the photo I’m wearing it over a lightweight, black RaceFace jacket. It’s a perfect fit in a size Small, which the mfg. states will fit a 40-42 chest. I think that is pretty close to right on. My chest is 37.5. It is a very lightweight poly fabric. I doubt it would provide much wind protection on its own. But if, like me, you’re looking to make a dark jacket or jersey more visible, this vest will do that. As for the zipper on the “wrong” or woman’s side, that’s from a strictly American perspective. A lot of Euro mfgs place the zipper pull on the left. Nothing wrong with it.
