Needed new workout sturdy shoes, I recently had back surgery and wanted shoes that have comfy in soles, good arch support and cup your foot. I like the rounded toe and supportive heel. Have tried other brands of sport shoes but am really pleased with ASICS styles and fit.

I purchased these shoes for proper support for walking post-ankle surgery. After healing, rounds of PT, & attempts to wear shoes of my own, I knew I needed to “invest” in a quality product. I read reviews (about running small), I ordered a 10M which is what I normally order for sports shoes and boots. I have orthotics because I have very flat feet and pronation. But with the orthotics in, I was worried they’d be too tight. I removed the pad insole and placed the orthotics in the shoes. They are a little snug, but still, toe room is fine. I like that the shoe is more structured, not soft…I need a sturdy shoe to keep my ankle from rolling inward. They’re really cute, don’t make my feet look huge like flippers! Wearing for first time today, so I’ll maybe update my rating after a few days…

I am on my 4th pair of the Asics gel-contend 7 running shoe. I have a high arch and speed walk about 30-35 miles/week. For over a decade I wore Brooks Ghost shoes and with a change around Ghost 13 I could no longer wear them without getting heel blisters. It forced me to find this shoe which is a lot less expensive:) I do wish the bottom didn’t wear out as fast. I have to replace about every 6 months, however, I noticed that with the more recent Brooks shoes also. Although with the recent pairs, my tween girls have still worn my retired shoes since they don’t need the same support and besides the bottoms they still look great. In October 23 I purchased the gel-contend 8. I returned them and got the gel-contend 7 because I didn’t feel like it had as much arch support and the heel height seemed shorter. The 8 was not as comfortable as the 7. I also have bunions that make my foot a little wider, but not wide enough for a wide version of shoes and I think these fit well (so maybe not the best shoe for someone with narrow feet). I usually wear a size 8 and from the reviews I ordered and 8.5 and it fit perfectly.

As a hospital professional, I am on my feet most of the day. Finding quality footwear is like searching for a needle in a haystack. These gems have excellent support, cushioning insoles, and amazing traction. The color is a true black and they are incredibly easy to put on and remove. The only downside is the toe box. I ordered a size 8 wide. It’s not wide. My toes do get cramped after a few hours. It can become quite uncomfortable. However, the other benefits of the shoes overshadow this design issue. I would absolutely recommend these shoes to anyone who doesn’t need a wide toe box. Durable, easy to clean, odor resistant, water resistant, and versatile (not rigid). Super lightweight.

ASICS are my favorite gym shoes. This style in particular is very comfortable. I am not a runner; i wear these shoes for working out on an elliptical machine, working around the house, and running errands on the weekends.
These shoes have good support and are well made. I have owned several pairs, and have been able to wash them in the washing machine, and still get several years out of them. I like this style so much that I have bought it in several different colors.
