Sleek design, comfortable to wear . I’ve had a Fitbit tracker since my first clip-on device in 2013 and have just upgraded to the Charge 6 from my Charge 5. Tracking my health markers has been comforting and helpful in making good choices in my life, keeping me moving and keeping me healthy and giving me peace of mind.

Wow I am impressed. The Fitbit is game changer I’m losing a little bit of weight every day being able to track my calories and know when to call it quits for the day and eat more appropriate foods. It’s keeping track of my heart rate but not my blood pressure? You get 6 months of the premium membership when you buy it and I have to say I’m not a techie but this is actually really worth the money it’s a good product if you’re concerned about your health and fitness I ordered one for my wife as well. Very sleek design. However the rubber band that came with it gave me a rash and is way too tight and I have small wrist. I was able to find a replacement band with the magnetic attachment that is very comfortable for $13 at Wally world

After 4 days: this is 3rd Fitbit Charge of various models. Love the Fitbit Charge fitness trackers. Charge 5, Charge 6, and finger pulse oximeter simultaneously all had similar HR and O2 readings with Charge 6 quicker to match finger pulse oximeter HR and O2 readings. The overnight SPO2 simultaneous overnight monitoring by both Charge 6 and Charge 5 provided similar readins/results. Connectivity of Charge 6 to watch works well with NO problems. I trust the Google platforms and OS and much appreciate that the Fibit Charge 5 and Charge 6 battery lasts 6 to 7 days, which allows me to track and meet daily activity; and SIGNIFICANTLY IMPORTANT is the continuous fitness tracking/monitoring throughout the day then seamlessly throughout the night for SPO2 monitoring, which is of GREAT importance to the 55+ crowd.

I had a Charge 4 for the last few years and was reasonably happy with it. Last week it died in the swimming pool. I think the seal on the bezel aged to the point where the water could seep in. I had become accustomed to having a fitness watch, and that same night I shopped for a replacement. I didn’t want anything too large, too complicated, or very expensive. I was leery of all the knock-off watches, first because I didn’t know where my fitness data would be going, and second because the app was horrible, and third, my first watch didn’t last very long. I figured that with Fitbit, Google has so much other data on me, why not a little more? The watch arrived, I charged it, and connected it to the Fitbit app on my phone. It took a while because the software had to update, but all the steps were simple. I’ve been using the Charge 6 for about a week. The watch band and wearing comfort is tons better than the Charge 4. The display is brighter and readable outdoors. The battery life is good. Overall, I’m very happy with the Charge 6.

I’ve had experiences with Fitbit for quite some time now. I originally started with the Alta. It was great for what it was, but wished it could do more. Not long after, I moved onto a Charge 2. It mostly satisfied what I was looking for with what it offered compared to the Alta (heart rate tracking, bigger screen, navigating beyond touch, more screen real estate, etc). As much as I liked it, there were still some flaws. One of the biggest annoyances was how it would get disconnected and I’d miss notifications. That’s when I went with the Apple Watch (Series 2) and haven’t been back since.

I had high hopes for the Charge 6 when it came out and was hoping Google would make big strides into improving what I remembered of the 2. It seemed to have all the checkmarks, except they took away the altimeter to count flights of stairs climbed. The first thing the product tells you to do when taking it out of the box is to open the Fitbit app to activate the Charge. I haven’t opened the app in years so when I did, it told me to sign in. That’s when I came to my first issue.

My original Fitbit account is no longer valid. I was forced to migrate my account to Google and there was some issues when attempting. It wasn’t very smooth and took 2 attempts. OK, after that we need to get the App to talk to the Fitbit. Which leads me to the second issue.

For whatever reason, the Fitbit wouldn’t connect to my phone. The App would recognize the Fitbit was nearby, but it wouldn’t connect to it. I would open and close the app multiple times, along with toggling the bluetooth on/off on my phone, checking all permissions, and even restarting the phone. The app would see the device, so would the phone, but it just wouldn’t connect. It finally connected after I upgraded my iphone to the newest ios (which was only one iteration newer and released a few days prior). I don’t believe that’s the true cause for my issue, but whatever. When the Fitbit connected, it then tried to upgrade it’s firmware which lead to the third issue.

The Fitbit needs to be near the phone while the firmware is downloading. The device couldn’t have been more than 2 feet from the Fitbit, but the download would disconnect. The download takes about 10-15 minutes to complete, but it failed on my the first 2 times. It completed successfully on the third attempt and now I can finally start using it.

Comparing this to my old Fitbits, the first thing is that the screen is beautiful. I like that it’s smaller and a lot more refined than the Charge 2. I also like the fact that they have removed the character limit of text notifications (so I can see full message) and that I can go back to previous messages that were sent. This annoyed me before because what showed on the screen was only the last message truncated and if you didn’t see it while it scrolled past, you can’t see it anymore without pulling out your phone. You can see the past 10 notifications sent before it rolls over. I limit my notifications to only the basics like phone calls and text messages to maximize this functionality. The steps counter, sleep, and HR monitoring are what I would expect them to be. And the battery life is way better than an Apple Watch… I don’t have to worry if I charged the watch the night before in order to use it.

Unfortunately, the added functionality from Google is also stunted. You can’t respond (preset responses) to messages unless you have Android. New functionality like to control Youtube music app requires a paid premium account. The touchscreen isn’t that responsive, causing me to swipe multiple times or just not respond at all. But the final straw is the connectivity. Too many times I would miss notifications because somehow connectivity was lost and wouldn’t re-establish. Usually a re-sync with the app would resolve this, but only after I noticed something was wrong.

I really really wanted to like this device, but it would be too many compromises for this price. You can really see and feel the direction Google is taking with their acquisition, treating FitBit completely as secondary while incorporating the FitBit tech in their flagship Pixel watches. Especially with a $70 price cut a little over a month after release and them pulling Fitbit products from multiple countries. With all this, looks like I’ll be upgrading to an Apple Watch Series 9 instead.

Happy to have powered through the enraging pairing process – something that should have taken 30 seconds but stretched on for more than 30 minutes due to dozens of unexplained, senseless fails with my father’s iPhone 13 (from my angered googling at the time, this seems a very common issue with iPhones). Once FINALLY paired, there have been zero problems. Everything functions as it should and his 3rd party Charge 5 bands fit just fine.
Upgraded from the 5 as it always failed to capture my father’s sleep. The 6 does not share that issue.

This is my 2nd Fitbit. I had a Charge 3 for 5 years and the display finally got so dim a few months ago I could only read it in a dark room. But for 5 years I wore it 24/7 and it took a beating getting banged around working on cars, doing construction, etc. Very reliable and durable. So I just bought this Charge 6. It’s awesome. A lot like my Charge 3 but improved in every way. Everything works as it should. No problems with set up, and the app kept my Charge 3 data with no problem. As I read negative reviews on the Charge 6, many of them are by people who don’t know the basics of how to set up the watch, let it update and restart, how to sync it, charge it, find clock faces, etc. One person gave it a low rating because they didn’t know if it would last a long time because they had just bought it — as if that is the fault of the watch. It’s a tough crowd. I can only say that it works great.

I bought the Charge 6 after my Charge 5 stopped working a few months ago. The new charge does everything I need it to. I like the new features with the additional activity options to choose from and the side button that’s been added back is nice as well. The off white color is a great neutral color and matches everything I wear. It’s a very responsive watch the display actually lights up when I turn my wrist to check the time (Charge 5 didn’t do this), it starts recording my walks without me having to turn anything on, and I can also receive call alerts and notifications. For the average user that just likes to generally track fitness metrics for consistency and motivation, the Charge 6 is great. I’m not concerned about it being super accurate as I’m not a serious athlete.

I always missed my fit bit after is stopped charging all the way. I have had Lots of other brands. I bought the latest charge 6 from another place at a good price but i could not get it to charge properly or set up. When I did it said it needed to update and it would not do that. The face was a blank black space. I returned it and checked out Amazon. Got it for an awesome price as well. It charged, synced with my phone. It then updated and I was able to choose a face. I have not tried to check my heart yet. I love the strap as I have a small wrist and the band tucks under the strap and does not stick out.whenever I tried other fit watches, that kind of strap was hard to find. Yes, I do recommend the watch.

Es un gran avance con relación a las primeras generaciones de Charges. Lo único que inexplicablemente no tiene es altímetro. Pero todo lo demás es de primera y a un costo con relación a otras marcas, realmente extraordinario.

  11. Jyzzo

Nearly identical to the previous version. Almost zero innovation or improvement. It works, but just a smidge better than my tracker did in 2015. Battery life is good with Charge models so that’s why I use them. Everything else about it is meh.
